New Disney Ownership Resort
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is the seventh and largest of the growing collection of popular Disney ownership properties.
The "health-history-horses" theme for the resort draws on the property's many amenities and features which were inspired in large measure by its namesake town in New York.
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa lies just across the lake from the magical metropolis of Downtown Disney. From its colorful Victorian architecture to the influence of horse racing, this lakeside community recaptures the heyday of upstate New York country retreats in the late 1800s. The resort features a full-service spa, a neighborhood eatery and market, a spectacular rockwork theme pool with a slide, recreation, water-shuttle service to Downtown Disney and convenient access to Disney's Lake Buena Vista golf course.
Saratoga Springs opened in May 2004 with 184 units in its first phase and completed a second phase of 368 units in 2005. A third phase of 276 units became available in 2007 and increased the resort room count to a total of 828 units, making it the largest Disney Vacation Club resort to date. Here the comforts of home surround guests, including full kitchens and living rooms in the one-, two- and three-bedroom villa units, all with either a water, garden or golf course view.
"With this unique property, we were able to blend a great setting in the heart of the Walt Disney World Resort with the rich heritage of an iconic American town," said Jim Lewis, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Vacation Development, Inc., operators of Disney Vacation Club.
The current collection of Disney Vacation Club resorts includes five locations at Walt Disney World Resort (Disney's Old Key West Resort; Disney's BoardWalk Villas; The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge; Disney's Beach Club Villas; Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa), as well as Disney's first resorts beyond the theme park locations -- Disney's Vero Beach Resort located on Florida's Atlantic Coast and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort in South Carolina.
